A Piece of Glass Shattered

There is a lot of bad in the world and there is also good. I've come a long way from the day I learned how to stand on my own two feet to the day I drove my first car. I'm sure you can relate. With age they say, comes wisdom. With wisdom however, comes the horrifying reality of the truth.

I've been through a lot of obstacles, I'm sure we all have. I want you to put those all aside and I want you to just think about the worst truth you've ever come across.

What is mine, you ask? The worst truth I have ever come across is finding out that the Superman and Superwoman in my life, my dad and mom, are in fact just normal human beings. They're filled with faults and they too can be wrong, but does that mean they are bad people? No.

Like I said, with age comes wisdom. But thinking about this made me realize that when we are so young we tend to block away the reality of it all. I still remember look at my dad as a hero and my mom as my idol and that will never change. But there is a beautiful innocence about looking at your parents like they're your superhero's and there is a heart breaking realization about finding out that they too can make mistakes. They can't be perfect. No one can. This isn't meant to fill your mouth with a sower feeling, it's mean to make you realize the beautiful reality we live in. No one can be perfect, but that doesn't mean you cannot try.

I cannot remember the exact day that I realized they were just normal people like me, but when I did realize however, it blew me away. It didn't change the way I look at them because I still put them on this pedestal. It did make me realize though that no matter how much a sponge may be able to absorb it will still have holes. In this case, flaws.

Thinking about this taught me the value of living in the moment and enjoying every smell, touch, taste, and memory that surrounds us.

*I know I haven't been active and the purpose of this blog has lost it's value, but I revisited this the other day and re-reading my own posts and the millions of post's I have stored away in my draft folder refreshed me and motivated me to keep expressing my thoughts. I hope that someone out there comes across this and can relate to it and understands that they are not alone in this place we call Earth. No matter where we are from, we have the freewill to dream, don't ever forget that.*

Anchor Yourself & Let Go

In the 21st Century, everyone is a dreamer and seeker. We look around us and there is competition everywhere, but in this competition and chance to be number 1, you may find your life's best memories and friends. I know I certainly am. My competition is still going, but it is honestly what you take out of it that matters.

At this point in time, if someone has told you that something is "impossible" to do or "most of you will fail" then ...well....they are wrong. There, I said it.

Nothing is impossible to do. Great leaders that we are taught about did not become great. Unlike most people, they did not just act out of a whim, if they wanted to do something they chased after it like their prey. Yea, you may get scratches here and there, but the difference you will bring in your life and who knows who else's, will empower everything and everyone around you.

This life that we have...is just so precious. You may think that you were created to die one day, and that you were given no choice to be apart of this world....however, that is not true. You started from this tiny, puny cell...and now here you are reading this.... this creation ,.. this world that we created.. it in fact is beautiful...

All these materialistic things we have... mean nothing.... but the impact you make on the world does. If you have an opportunity to dream, do it. If you have the opportunity to chase after your dreams, do it. If you have the opportunity to make the people around you happy, take it. The sun rises once a day and sets once a day...your dream however, doesn't vanish at a certain point in life.

Dream big, but dream with your feet on the ground. As much as I want to make my dreams come true, I tend to loose my grip in reality and fly to Cloud-9 in a millisecond. Don't make the mistake of taking the chances you have. Take everything in the reach of your palms and go after every anchored dream possible.

It is easier said written than done... but if you do loose your anchor in reality, understand that there is one other person out there who feels the same.

So, anchor yourself and take off... there is only so far you can go...might as well go to the finish line.

Stitches Unleashed

In life, there will always be those who gain pleasure from someone else's misery, but this may not  be in our hands. What is in our hands however, is the people we surround ourselves with.

It took me a long time to realize this (and to some it may seem like general knowledge), but there are bigger things to life and it should not be left for other people to lead us. Each and every individual has the right to their life and the way they want to lead it. The hurdles we pass are nothing compared to the ones we could imagine...no matter how bad we think it already is.

Everyone has obstacles to face, but to think that yours are greater than the people next to you will be the first step towards opening that door filled with hate and anger. Stop and appreciate. No matter how things may be, appreciate the fact that you have the simple things in life like a roof over your head and a meal to eat.

There are things to life that I don't understand, and let's face it, a lot of people don't. But to let go of our control and grip we have for each other and fall into the hole to look for answers is not at all worth it.

What is the meaning to our being? It's what you want it to be. I will just end it at that. I know people who spend their entire life wondering about this, but why? Time does not wait for anyone. By the time you figure it out, maybe too much time has passed? I think each and every individual should continue to make their own individual choices regardless of someone else's opinion and prosper in their beliefs.

To spend your entire life searching for this meaning will lead you to one day find the answer, but then what? You may now have in your possession the answer, but the time spent in searching for it, the love you have lost, the happiness you have lacked, and the memories you were never able to build are colossal.

If you take two hands and pour water, no matter how hard you try the water will vanish in time.

When you have the chance to turn your life around and the power to make it what we want it to be, don't waste time getting lost in the questions and finding the answers...live it as if it's your one and only chance...because it is.

Don't get lost in the crowd...make yourself stand out by making the right decisions... because if not now, tomorrow, or the day after, there will still be that one day where people will look up to you and regret the past they have left behind.

Enjoy the snow for those of you on the East Coast ....

They say love conquers all and it's true, it does. Love is powerful and with that I hope you will cherish all the love and warmth floating around you...even if today you may not see it.

Taking A Step Forward...

As kids we are always told to do what makes us happy. As we grow older we are told that true happiness comes from sacrificing what you love to have the people who you care for to be happy. After learning this, we look back and some of may regret some of the sacrifices we have made.

What can hurt most in life is when you do something for other people but they don't appreciate it well enough. However, that is not their fault, or is it? I mean if you really cared for that person shouldn't you be able to foresee? I am not a philosopher, but i can tell you that life is a game. A game where we are just players. Players that think they are capable of great things, but in the end do nothing because they believe that small actions won't have a big impact. That thinking itself is a flaw.

Why not believe that you could be the change this world needs? I am sure even great leaders we learn about in history didn't even know how popular they would be. The point of becoming the change doesn't mean popularity. It means hope. If you have hope and you trust your instincts and dreams to be impacting, then go for it! Be the change this world needs. Things like this are definitely easier said than done, but if we all keep thinking this way, what is left in this world to hope for?

There are many shrewd people in this world, but what is to come of that when there is no one benefiting from it. You don't have to be intelligent to make a change. I don't know the exact saying but i have heard that a single pebble can have a bigger rippling effect than expected. Now I'm not sure if that is exactly the saying, but what i do know is changing the heart of one person or impacting one person's life is the change the world needs. That's all.

Just remember that true happiness will come from those who want the people around them to be happy :)

Keep Smiling and don't forget to chase your dreams :)

A second Chance

Sometimes to forgive and forget is the best policy. I mean think about it...do you want to look back at your life just remembering all those times people have hurt you OR all those times when you have hurt someone else. The answer without hesitation should be no.

A lot of the time a lot of us are simply just afraid to step out into the world. Afraid of society.  Afraid of failing expectations.  Afraid of hurting the people we love. I've learned to make a pact with myself.

I learned to walk in my own foot steps without falling down. I don't want to be that person turning around and reflecting at myself with regret. I want to look forward because the past will always remain in the past. That cannot be changed.

Time will always go on and sometimes it will leave us, forgetting us.  But the point is to get back up and chase after our dreams to catch up with the rest of the world. Once you're caught up with time, there will be no I ne there to hurt you or pull you back.

There will be great opportunities in life and even though for some of us our journey has just begun...there will always be good and evil for eternity. What we should keep in mind through all our struggles is not loosing the people we love who have suffered along with us. Hold on tight and dont loose your grip. True strength can be found inside us, inside our hearts.

A Simple Contemplation

When I close my eyes, I want to see the world in front of me. A world where there is no looking back. A world where there is no bad. A world where this only love, that would be a true dream come true.

I want to follow my dreams but I can’t, in truth no one can achieve their dreams. There is no such thing as dreams and there is no such thing as having your dreams come true. You can only chase after them, thus they are mere fantasies trapped in the back of our mental state, afraid and petrified of the true world out there lying in front of us.

But that doesn't mean that our life will be filled with nothing but sorrow. For our hopes and memories are worth more than the silly fantasies we have in mind.

So I’ll leave us all at one note, live life to the fullest, but in a manner that when you look back at it there is nothing but a pride smile across your face.

When we take a step in life, let’s make a vow to never take a step back because that would intent we have never forgotten regrets behind us.

Lead your life the positive way, which you envy when you someone else has. Instead of envy and jealousy shape your life in a manner that satisfies your needs and wants.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming, but there will always be something wrong with only dreaming. When you’re at that stage in life, you have clearly forgotten how to live it.

Many have asked why we cannot fly. The real reason behind why we cannot fly is because wings are not strong enough to carry our burdens and responsibilities.

A Tale Of Pain

When he closed his eyes, he saw his past.
He had a spouse, two children, and a shelter above him.
This will always account as a sweet memory, but
For his children who looked up to him, likely not.
Hoping for a new start, he would look up at the sky’s jewel.

At a time he was full of pride, for he had everything
That a man would ever dreamt of. When the typhoon finally hit,
He still remained confident, for he had over confidence on his
Future to come. He figured why misfortune would ever happen
To him, for he had never committed any sin.
As days rolled by, the job that once relied on him,
Became something he daily began to depend on.

Once stout-hearted man, now filled with overwhelming fear of
How he too, would lose his job like his neighbors near.
A man with no guilt, suddenly indulged in guidance of God’s ways
Hoped his daily toil would gain His blessings, which he would
Clutch to his heart, for he only hoped for his children and
Spouse to live under a dwelling place, with no problems at sight.

Times were to him very harsh, for his job cut his pay.
At a point in his life money was all, but now hope had the power
To conquer all, but for he it was already too late.
Clutched at by trouble, his faith cried for help but
Never did he receive the comfort he requested for, he wept with his wife
For their old heavenly life, that they never had truly appreciated.
He felt that not a penny would be freed, for when his
Dead body is found sleeping in the earth-hall, screaming for peace
And nothing but tranquility, for his transcending sins.

The living sorrow of life, simmered in his eyes.
Now with nothing to provide for his family, he was left with no glory
Nor pride. For his life was nothing but morbid, of sweet memories
He wept of, sweet memories he dreamt of. All this lasted as a dream.
A dream that could never buy him his true gold, the happiness that had
Once lasted in the family. His true sin, he finally saw was
Not seeing the value of his jewel, until it was surely lost in time.
Thus he was not gifted to carry solace, until he gasped for air.
The tears in his eyes, the dream in his pearl-white smile
All portrayed the world of what was to come, when one lives with fear.
